Extrusion coated composite film resin
The coating film of the extrusion-coated composite film is not a composite film, but a film is formed on the substrate during the compounding process. It differs from general film-grade resins in that it has good fluidity and exhibits a large MFR value. The most commonly used resins are PE (including LDPE, LDPE, HDPE), followed by PP, EVA, and then ionic polymers. There are also PS, PA, PU and other resins in foreign countries.

(1) Polyethylene resin for extrusion coating composite film
LDPE extrusion coating grade resin, with general LDPE properties, in the extrusion coating composite film, mainly using its moisture resistance and heat sealability, and it is composed of some materials with excellent barrier properties, such as PT, PET, PA, etc. Composite materials to meet the requirements of moisture and gas barrier properties, while adapting to the heat sealing requirements of packaging. Among them, polyethylene is the most used in extrusion coating compounding. Among the polyethylenes, the largest amount of LDPE is the most common, followed by LLDPE and then HDPE. The properties of the three resins in extrusion coating are shown in Table 7-3-2. It can be seen from the table that the LDPE is mainly excellent in moisture resistance (blocking H2O), good in transparency and good in processability;
LLDPE has excellent moisture resistance, good strength and excellent heat sealing performance. Compared with LDPE, LLDPE has excellent heat sealability and hot tack strength. When it is lower than 125 °C, LLDPE heat seal strength increases rapidly. At 120 °C, LDPE Both LLDPE and LLDPE reached the highest value, and the strength decreased after exceeding 140 °C. The hot-adhesive property, LLDPE is much better than LDPE, which is 2 to 4 times higher than that of LDPE at the same temperature. Therefore, LLDPE is more and more inclined. The HDPE heat sealing performance is worse than LDPE and LLDPE. Use when the temperature is high.
LDPE is inexpensive and is the most commonly used resin for extrusion coating of composite films.
LDPE is a symmetrical and non-polar structure, which is difficult to bond with other materials. Generally, it is necessary to pre-coat the primer to improve the adhesion of the two layers.

(2) Extrusion coating composite polypropylene resin
As the extrusion coating layer polypropylene, it mainly takes good transparency, good moisture resistance, good heat sealability, good hot tack, high heat resistance than PE, and low price, and is especially suitable for dry fruit food packaging.

(3) Extrusion coating composite EVA resin
In the extrusion coating compound, the EVA coating resin used is mainly taken as follows:
1.Excellent low-temperature heat-sealing property; 2.The heat-sealing strength is large, even if the sealing retention time is prolonged, the strength does not change; 3. The inclusions have good heat-sealing property; 4.The impact resistance is not easy to break the bag; 5.The low-temperature resistance is good, and these properties Also related to the VA content in the EVA, the VA content of the coating EVA is between 5% and 30%.
The EVA-coated composite film is suitable for packaging foods such as MSG, milk powder pickles, and pickled products that are easily contaminated and sealed.
