Kaolin plastic plate production line
Kaolin is a kind of hydrated aluminosilicate mineral in clay. Its molecular formula can be expressed as a1,0, · 2sio2h: 0. Generally, it contains 40% ~ 50% Si0: 30% ~ 40% Al: O: 1.0% ~ 1.2% FeO, and the loss on ignition is 11% ~ 12%. In addition, it also contains trace oxides of Ti, CA, Mg, K, Na and other metal elements. Plastic sheet production line www.handern.com
Kaolin single crystal is a kind of double-layer hydrated aluminum silicate, one layer is silicon dioxide, the other is hydrated aluminum oxide, which is formed by the combination of chemical bonds; the difference of two sides and the high activity of the broken bond at the edge make kaolin have a strong tendency of agglomeration, and the agglomeration phenomenon is significant with the decrease of particle size. However, the active surface is easy to interact with organic silane, various metal salts (such as ethylene stabilizer), polar polymers, lubricants and other substances, that is, it is easy to surface treatment and easy to disperse. The density of natural hydrated kaolin is 1.58g/cm, and that of fully calcined kaolin is 1.63g/cm. The Moh's hardness of natural hydrated kaolin is 2, which is non corrosive, while the Moh's hardness of fully calcined kaolin is 6 ~ 8, which has the pH value in the acidic range. If the surface treatment is not carried out to inhibit its acidic activation point, it will cause side reactions when it is used as the filler of epoxy resin and polyolefin. Kaolin is easy to absorb moisture and must be dried before use. Kaolin is often associated with quartz, mica, carbon, iron, titanium oxide and other clay minerals. After calcination, its whiteness can reach more than 90%, and the best can reach more than 95%. Plastic sheet production line www.handern.com
Kaolin has excellent electrical insulation properties. When it is used to modify plastics, it can improve the insulation strength of plastics. At the same time, it can improve the tensile strength and modulus of thermoplastic without significantly reducing the elongation and impact strength. Kaolin can act as nucleating agent for polypropylene, which is helpful to improve the rigidity and strength of polypropylene. Kaolin has a remarkable barrier effect on infrared ray. This characteristic is not only used for military purposes, but also used in agricultural film, which can enhance the thermal insulation effect of plastic greenhouse. When 40% kaolin is added into HDPE, the tensile strength is 21MPa, the tensile modulus of elasticity is 1370mpa, the elongation is 60%, and the hot deformation temperature is 96 ℃. Sometimes, the surface of kaolin is treated with various compounds to improve its affinity with plastics. If kaolin is treated with azide silane, the filling amount can be increased and the properties of polymer can be improved. For example, in polyethylene, the blending amount of untreated kaolin is 6% ~ 8%, which can reach 20% ~ 40% after treatment. In polypropylene, the blending amount of untreated kaolin is 6% ~ 8%, and it can reach 50% after treatment. The tensile strength of polypropylene increased from 22.9 MPa to 30.4 MPa, the bending strength increased from 44.7 MPa to 58.1 MPa, and the hot deformation temperature increased from 70 ℃ to 75 ℃. Kaolin has high hygroscopicity, so we should pay attention to prevent moisture caking during storage, so as not to affect the quality of plastic products.
