As an accelerant of forming performance, lubricants can be divided into internal lubricants (reducing interfacial friction between polymer molecules) and external lubricants (reducing friction between polymer and metal surface of forming machine), whose function is to promote lubrication dynamically. 1. Function of lubricant
As internal lubricant, it should have the following functions:
(1) It weakens the mutual attraction between the macromolecular chains and makes them easier to slide and rotate during deformation, that is, it reduces the interfacial friction;
(2) the powder resin can be coagulating smoothly to prevent the sharp rise of the torque during gelation (for PVC et al); (3) by decreasing the melt viscosity of the resin, the fluidity increases, the screw torque decreases and the extrusion volume increases.
(4) improve processing capacity, reduce molding machine load, improve energy efficiency.
As an external lubricant, it shall have the following functions:
(1) Prevent resin thermal decomposition and coloring caused by friction heat between resin and metal surface of molding machine;
(2) Prevent sintering on metal surface of forming machine;
(3) Improve the stripping performance or demoulding performance of the roller 3
(4) improve the surface smoothness of finished products.
2. Key points of lubricant selection
Lubricants have a wide range of uses. They are indispensable additives in rigid PVC. A small amount of lubricants are often added in polyolefin, PS, ABS, PF, MF, CA, up, PA and other plastics. Different kinds of plastics are suitable for different lubricants. Excellent lubricants should meet the following requirements:
(1) Good dispersibility. If it is not well dispersed during mixing, it will cause local lubricity, uneven texture of molded products, or frosting on the surface of products. Casting film equipment www.handeen.com
(2) It has proper compatibility with polymer. If the compatibility is too large, the lubricant can plasticize and soften the plastic. If the compatibility is too small, it is easy to spray frost on the surface.
(3) Good thermal stability, low volatility, no decomposition, no discoloration at molding temperature, little change with temperature at high temperature.
(4) no damage to product performance such as strength, aging resistance, transparency, etc.
(5) The best is colorless, odorless, tasteless, at least does not cause color migration.
(6) Low toxic or non-toxic as packaging materials in contact with food, must choose non-toxic lubricants.
(7) It's cheap.
3. Classification of lubricants
Lubricants are classified according to chemical structure and function. Table 8-29 and table 3-30 are examples of the two classification methods. The effect of xiang3-31 as lubricant on the homogeneous properties of rigid PVC was studied.
4. Compound lubricant
It is difficult for a single lubricant to meet the requirements of processing and use, while the compound lubricant has good lubrication effect in each section of forming process due to its simple preparation, saving raw materials, good balance of internal and external lubrication performance. Moreover, it makes use of the commonness of all kinds of compounds to combine the stability, antistatic property and anti stickiness, so as to make it multifunctional.
The commonly used compound lubricants are as follows: paraffin hydrocarbon compound; ② metal soap compound with paraffin hydrocarbon; ③ fatty amide compound with other lubricants; ④ compound with lignite wax ester as the main body; ⑤ stabilizer and lubricant compound system.
