Casting PP, PE film corona treatment example
(1) Processing equipment

(2) Influence of raw materials
Different raw materials and processes have different effects. PP requires higher energy than PE, while PE with higher crystallinity requires higher energy than PE with lower corresponding value.
(3) Effect of film thickness
Thicker films require higher energy. For example, when the surface tension of the CPP film is 40 mN/m and the thickness is 20 μm, 40 μm and 60 μm, the equivalent current is about 3.1A, 3.4A, 3.8A.
(4) Impact of production speed
The speed is fast, the time is short, and the processing intensity is large. For example: 40μm CPP production speed, produced at 30m/min, 40m/min and 50m/min, to achieve a surface tension of 40mN/m, the required current level is about 3.0A, 3.4A and 3.9A .
(5) Effects of temperature and humidity
The film temperature is high and the treatment effect is good, so the general treatment electrodes are installed behind the film sizing equipment. The production environment has low humidity and the treatment effect is better.
(6) Surface tension subsides
After the corona-treated film is left for a period of time, a part of the auxiliary agent such as the internal slip agent, the antistatic agent, and the antioxidant is exuded, forming a weak interfacial layer on the surface of the film, thereby lowering the surface tension of the film. Corona treatment subsided, the main factors affecting the raw materials, film specifications (thickness), temperature and initial strength.
The characteristics of corona treatment regression are often started quickly and then slowly and smoothly. For PP and PE, after about one month, the surface tension of most of the resin's resin subsided to about 38mN/m.
