Single layer plastic roof panel overview
The most common single-layer plastic roofing panels are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) corrugated sheets. The following is an example of PVC corrugated sheets.
The rigid PVC corrugated board has two basic structures, one is a longitudinal corrugated board, and the other is a horizontal corrugated board. A common longitudinal wave board is used in the domestic market. The length of the longitudinal wave plate can be from 900 to 1300 nm, and the length is not limited in production, but for transportation, it is generally 5-6 m in length. The longitudinal wave plate can be made into an arched roof with no seams in the middle and good water tightness, which is very suitable for the roof of a small swimming pool. The transparent PVC cross-wave plate can be used to hang the top, and the lighting device is installed on it to form a luminous flat top, and the decorative effect is very good. If the transverse wave plate is soft, it can be rolled up, the length can be 10-30m, and the thickness is 1.0-1.5mm.
The corrugated board has a variety of cross-sections that allow the installed roof to have different lines and three-dimensionality. If there are circular waves, square waves and special wave types, most of them are circular waves in China. The specifications of each factory are different. The general wave height is 15m and the wave distance is 63mm.
In addition to opaque corrugated sheets of various colors, hard PVC corrugated sheets can also be made translucent, and their transparency is less than that of plexiglass, which is only 75% to 85%, so it is called translucent corrugated board. The translucent sheet is used as a roof panel for daylighting and soft light. Hard PVC corrugated sheets often use impact modifiers to increase the toughness of the product.
The production of rigid PVC corrugated sheets is often carried out by extrusion molding. At present, industrial waste red mud is commonly used as a filler to produce red mud filled polyvinyl chloride flame retardant corrugated board. The corrugated board (Watt) has the advantages of good weather resistance, high thermal stability, good mechanical performance, flame retardancy, safe and reliable use, and self-extinguishing in the event of fire, and is a new building material to replace traditional building materials. Traditional roofing materials, especially lightweight roofing materials, have some serious drawbacks to varying degrees. For example, asbestos cement tile has poor mechanical strength and heavy weight, asbestos is recognized as a serious carcinogen; and the price of glass fiber reinforced polyester tile (glass reinforced plastic tile) of the same thickness is much higher than that of red mud filled PVC corrugated tile. Poor flammability.
