Anchor coating agent (AC agent)
In extrusion coating, polyethylene coating is the most used, and the adhesion of polyethylene to the substrate is one of the most important properties. However, the structure of polyethylene is non-polar, and the adhesion is poor. It is difficult to bond with other substrates. Generally, a primer is used in advance, which is called anchor coating agent (AC agent) to improve two layers. There are many types of AC bonding strength between the composite films, and there are many types of AC agents which are commercially available and can be classified into four categories, namely, organic titaniums, isocyanates, polyethyleneimines, and polybutadienes. Different types of AC agents have different adhesion (substrate adaptability, water resistance, boiling resistance, etc.), and their structures and compositions are different. For example, the same is an isochlorate AC agent. If the structure and composition are different, the bonding performance is different. Even if the same AC agent has different substrates and composite compositions, it is resistant to water and boiling.
Can be different. Therefore, in order to correctly grasp the use and scope of application of AC agents, you should be familiar with the product catalogs and technical data of each manufacturer.
The adaptability of the AC agent to the substrate should be selected from the substrate for use and the substrate to be coated. The organic titanium-based AC agent has good adaptability to the listed substrates, and has excellent moisture resistance, but its water resistance and boiling resistance are poor, and oil resistance is also poor, so that it is most suitable for moisture-proof packaging. For the isophthalic acid ester, in addition to moisture-proof cellophane (MST), the adaptability is good, and the listed properties are good, which is an ideal AC agent. For polyethyleneimine, except for moisture-proof cellophane and K-coated cellophane, other adaptability is good, but its performance is poor, especially water resistance and boiling resistance. Polybutadiene-based AC agents, except moisture-proof cellophane, have good adaptability to other substrates, but in addition to excellent moisture resistance, other properties are slightly poor. Therefore, it should be coated according to the comprehensive consideration of substrate, performance and price. Polyethylene imide or isocyanate AC agent can be used for the polyethylene coating.
