2.2.1 Chlorinated polypropylene
Chlorinated polypropylene is a kind of resin modified by chlorination of isotactic polypropylene or random polypropylene resin. The chlorine content in chlorinated polypropylene is related to the chlorination conditions. Different chlorine content has a certain impact on the performance of chlorinated polypropylene resin. The abbreviation code of chlorinated polypropylene is CPP.
(1) Performance characteristics
① Chlorinated polypropylene resin is a white powder or granule, with a density of 1.63g/cm and no toxicity, and the water and volatile content in the resin are less than 0.5%.
② The melting point of chlorinated polypropylene resin is 100~120 ℃, the softening point is less than 150 ℃, and the thermal decomposition temperature is 180~190 ℃.
③ Good chemical stability, no swelling after immersion in 10% NaOH and 1% HNO3 aqueous solution for 150h, insoluble in alcohol and aliphatic hydrocarbon, but soluble in aromatic, ester and ketone solvents, good acid resistance and salt water resistance.
④ Chlorinated polypropylene products have certain hardness, good wear resistance, light resistance and aging resistance.
⑤ Chlorinated polypropylene products with high chlorine content have fire resistance, and chlorinated polypropylene products with 20%~40% chlorine content have good adhesion.
⑥ Chlorinated polypropylene has good compatibility with most resins (petroleum resin, rosin, phenolic resin, alkyd resin, coumarone resin, maleic resin).

The application of chlorinated polypropylene is mainly to use chlorinated polypropylene mixed with other resins or dissolved in solvent. The specific uses are as follows.

② Used as adhesive for bonding polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, polyether, polychloride, aluminum foil, copper, gold, silver and other materials; It is also a good adhesive for making double-layer polypropylene film, polypropylene film and paper, polypropylene film and aluminum foil; After the biaxially stretched polypropylene film is compounded with paper, the durability and degree of the product can be improved. It is a good material for book covers, advertising decoration and packaging. It is waterproof and bright in color.
③ Chlorinated polypropylene with high chlorine content (65% chlorine content) can be used as a substitute for chlorinated rubber and an additive for adhesives and flame retardants of inks and paints.
④ Chlorinated polypropylene with chlorine content of 24%~40% is mainly used as adhesive, precoating of polypropylene film for heat sealing, printing ink and paint carrier for polypropylene, etc.
⑤ Chlorinated polypropylene is used as the coating of polypropylene film, so that the coated polypropylene film has good moisture resistance and dimensional stability.
