Among them, the annual output of high-quality polyurethane foam is 260,000 tons, and that of rigid polyurethane foam is 160,000 tons. According to the Copenhagen International Conference’s decision to ban freon foaming agent, our country must speed up the search for its alternatives and realize the full generation as soon as possible. At the same time, it is necessary to develop high-flame retardant, low-smoke polyurethane foam, strengthen the development, promotion and application of structural foaming and high-load-bearing foam, so as to provide strong support and guarantee for the development of various industries in the new century.The domestic production of polyurethane foam began in the late 1950s, and by the mid-1970s, the annual production capacity was about 15,000 tons. In the past 10 years, my country’s polyurethane basic raw materials, auxiliaries and products have been rapidly developed, and 180-200 sets of advanced foaming equipment have been introduced, which greatly increased the production capacity and annual output of foam plastic products, and increased the production capacity to 20 For more than 10,000 tons/year, the average annual growth rate of polyurethane foam is 20% to 30%. The actual output in 1994 was about 100,000 tons, the annual consumption of soft foam was about 60,000 tons, and that of rigid foam was about 40,000 tons. In 1999, my country's polyurethane foam output reached 195,000 tons, of which 120,000 tons of soft foam and 75,000 tons of rigid foam, and the annual apparent consumption of 193,000 tons. Soft foam and semi-rigid foam are mainly used for furniture cushions, decorations, car cushions, carpet underlays, clothing linings, building sound absorption, sports cushions, mattresses and instrument packaging. Polyurethane rigid foam is used as heat insulation material in the refrigerator and cold storage industries, accounting for 57.5% of the total consumption of rigid foam; used for petroleum transportation pipeline chemical storage tanks and industrial equipment heat insulation accounted for 15%; used for building heat insulation , Sound-absorbing, decorative materials and mobile houses, etc. accounted for 10%; used for heat insulation in transportation accounted for 10%; others accounted for 7.5%.
The gap between my country and developed countries in the application of polyurethane is shown in the following: Foreign rigid foam is mainly consumed in the construction industry, accounting for more than 50% of the consumption of rigid foam; my country is mostly used in refrigerators and cold storage, and the insulation for the construction industry is still in the initial stage . The rapid development of the automobile and motorcycle industries has provided opportunities for the development of the polyurethane foam industry, and its potential market is also very broad. At present, the demand for polyurethane foam in my country has reached 350,000 to 400,000 tons per year.
