Wuhan Handern plastic welding
Plastic welding refers to the operation of heating the surface of two thermoplastic parts (generally refers to the same kind of varieties) to make them melt, and then welding them together under a certain external force, with a certain strength after cooling. Plastic welding can be divided into external hot parts contact welding, hot air welding, friction welding, induction welding, ultrasonic welding, high frequency welding, plasma welding, etc. The selection of welding process should be based on the properties of plastics, the shape of weldment and site conditions. Table 12-9 shows the advantages and disadvantages of various welding processes. 1. Contact welding of external hot parts. Multilayer hollow board production line www.handern.com
Contact welding of external hot parts is the earliest and simplest welding process. External hot parts include hot plate, hot strip, soldering iron and special tools. This method can be applied to polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene, polymethacrylate, polycarbonate, polytetrafluoroethylene, styrene copolymer, polyamide, etc.
(1) hot plate welding uses hot plate (electric heating or flame direct heating) to heat the welding place of two plastic parts to be welded at the same time, so that there is a certain thickness of molten layer (about 0.15mm), Then the two weldments are pressed together until they are cooled. The hot plate is usually aluminum plate, or copper, carbon steel or stainless steel plate. In order to prevent material sticking or promote the decomposition of some plastics, the surface is often covered with nickel plating or polytetrafluoroethylene.

The temperature of the hot plate is generally slightly higher than the melting temperature of the weldment. If the temperature is too low, the welding is not firm, and if the heating time is too long, it is not economical. If the temperature is too high, it will cause decomposition and reduce the welding quality. When welding, the pressure applied should be as low as possible. If the pressure is too low, the welding melt will be squeezed, resulting in too much boiling, which will affect the welding strength and increase the workload of post-processing. Table 12-10 lists the welding process conditions of various plastics.

The advantages of hot plate welding are: 1) fast welding speed; 2) high welding strength, generally 80 ~ 100% of raw materials; 3) welding parts do not need processing or welding rod; 4) simple tools, easy operation and stable quality. The disadvantage is low impact strength. The working surface of the hot plate can be made into arc, rectangle, ellipse and other forms. The power density of the electric board is generally 2 ~ 3W / cm2
(2) The heating belt is usually used for continuous welding. The heating belt is made of steel tape coated with poly (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) or polyester film or polytetrafluoroethylene film. The thickness of the heating belt is 0.1 ~ 15. It can also be used for welding yellow wax cloth and mica film. Table 12-11 heat sealing temperature of various plastic films and table 12-12 defects and correction in welding of external hot parts.
(3) Soldering iron welding the heat transfer head of electric soldering iron can be changed into thin heat transfer sheet to weld plastic sheet and film. The material of heat transfer sheet can be copper, aluminum, iron, stainless steel, etc. in order to prevent sticking, it can be coated or coated with a layer of polytetrafluoroethylene.
