Phenolic resin (PF) is prepared by condensation of phenol and formaldehyde in the presence of catalyst (hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or MHS, NaOH, etc.), which is mainly used in cleaning, sizing agent, molding rod, coplastics and foam control. As a life energy material, it has the following characteristics:
① It has the advantages of cheap raw materials, simple and mature production process, less investment in manufacturing and processing equipment, and easy molding and processing; ② the resin can be mixed with inorganic or organic fillers to make molding plastics, can also be impregnated with fabrics to make laminated products, and can also be foamed; ③ the size of the products is stable, and the molding shrinkage and the additional shrinkage of the inserts are small; ③ the resin can be used for molding plastics;
④ Good heat resistance, fire resistance, self extinguishing, good electrical insulation, but poor arc resistance;

1. Phenolic resin
Phenol and formaldehyde are condensed into thermoplastic phenolic resin under the action of acid catalyst (such as hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid, etc.), and then compounded with wood flour and other fillers, cyclomethylenetetramine, mold release agent, colorant, etc., which are molded, rolled into pieces, and then crushed into molding powder. Filler is an important component of phenolic plastics, which determines the properties and uses of products. The following requirements shall be met for the fillers:
① 80% molding compound has wood powder, pine, poplar, longitudinal tree, maple, birch and other gold, which can be crushed, dried and screened to 80 mesh. Its molding processability, compression strength and impact strength are good
② It has high impact strength with lint and cotton chips as fillers,
③ Improvement of heat resistance and impact resistance of asbestos filler
④ Mica can improve electrical properties but decrease mechanical properties, so it is often used together with asbestos
⑤ The mechanical properties of crude salt can be improved.

2. Phenolic laminated plastics
Using ammonia as catalyst, jasminol and formaldehyde are condensed and dehydrated in vacuum, and then alcohol is added to form a linear phenolic resin. Then the flake fillers (cotton cloth, paper, glass cloth, asbestos cloth, wood chips, etc.) are soaked to remove the resin. After drying, the resin is hot pressed into a laminate in a laminating machine, and can also be molded into pipes, rods or other products.
Base material: cloth laminated cotton cloth for electrical engineering has good mechanical properties, paper laminated insulation paper for electrical engineering has good electrical properties and oil resistance, glass cloth laminated glass cloth has good mechanical strength or heat resistance, good electrical properties, medium mechanical strength and heat resistance, high impact strength or good electrical properties The paper or cloth cup has good mechanical properties. The asbestos cloth has good heat resistance and low dielectric properties. The wood sheet has good wear resistance and mechanical strength, and is easy to process.
