Tensile properties of stretched film

The tensile properties of the stretched film can be characterized by the following parameters:
(1) Elongation at break
Longitudinal elongation at break Longitudinal (MD) sampled stretched film, elongation at break (%).
Transverse elongation at break The elongation (%) of the stretched film taken in the transverse direction (TD) at the time of tensile fracture.
Total elongation (%) The sum of the longitudinal elongation at break and the transverse elongation at break.
In general, the transverse rupture elongation of the stretched film is less than the longitudinal elongation at break (because the film undergoes a small dimensional change in the transverse direction during production). The total elongation is about 1000%.
(2) Elongation ratio
Longitudinal elongation at break ratio = longitudinal elongation at break: total elongation.
Transverse elongation at break ratio = transverse elongation at break: total elongation.
Elongation ratio = longitudinal elongation at break: transverse elongation at break.
The elongation ratio of the stretched film is generally between 35:65 and 50:50.
(3) Tension ratio
The ratio of the tensile strength to the yield strength of the stretched film which is longitudinally sampled (calculated by the stress-strain curve). A stretched film having a large tensile ratio is less likely to be broken during pre-stretching. The tensile ratio of the stretched film is generally (2-2.5):1, and the highest value is up to 5:1.
Self-adhesiveness of polyethylene stretch film
When the stretched film is stretched and wrapped, the mutually overlapping films can adhere to each other, so that the stretched and retracted tension of the film is "self-locking" without slack. This property is often referred to as "self-adhesiveness." Because the stretched film does not have an adhesive applied to its surface.
Since the stretched film has no adhesive, there is no need to worry about the transfer of the adhesive and the contamination of the package by the adhesive during use. Moreover, the package can protect the package well over a long period of time from cold to hot.
