Stretch Film Performance Requirements

The performance requirements of the stretch film are
(1) When using the wrap film, wrap the package with a large tension. To prevent it from being pulled off, the wrap film should have sufficient strength to meet the requirements of manual wrap or mechanical automatic wrap.
(2) The wrapping film should have sufficient toughness, impact strength and pinhole resistance to prevent the film from being punctured by the sharp corners of the irregular shape during the winding process and to prevent the packaging film from rupturing when the product is subjected to impact.
(3) The wrap film is required to have good viscoelasticity, and the tension applied to the product at the time of winding the package can be maintained for 6 months after packaging, and no slack occurs. It is generally required to maintain 60% of the initial tension 6 months after packaging.
(4) In order to ensure good adhesion of the overlapping parts when the wrapping film is wound, it is required that the surface of the elastic film has a certain viscosity, which may be a resin having good viscoelasticity, or adding a plasticizer or a resin to the resin. Sticky resin. For example, a plasticizer or a material such as neoprene is added to the PVC; a butyl rubber or the like is added to the LDPE resin to increase the viscosity of the sea film. When a single-sided tacky elastic film is required, the same type of base resin of two different formulations can be used to produce a one-side, non-tacky elastic film by co-extrusion.
(5) Good heat sealability, high heat seal strength and low heat seal temperature.
(6) It is required to be used for a long time at -20 to 50 °C, and the performance is basically unchanged.
Plastics commonly used as elastic films are: PVC, EVA, LLDPE, polybutadiene, LDPE, VLDPE and other plastics with good viscoelastic properties.
The thickness of the elastic film is generally 15 to 30 μm, and an elastic film having a thickness of 50 μm or more can also be used when winding a large load of heavy weight. Thicker heavy-duty packaging can be stretched from 3 to 8%. Thinner films can achieve 15 to 50% stretch. The elastic film, the wound overlapping portion is stretched between 15 and 25%.
