The use of co-extrusion composite method to produce multilayer barrier film has the following characteristics
(1) Less production process The co-extrusion composite barrier film can be used to directly and continuously produce a multilayer composite film using granular (or powder) resin, with few production steps and short process routes. Therefore, it has the advantages of high production efficiency, low energy consumption, low cost, and high cost performance. Roughly compared to the production of dry composite barrier film, the production cost is reduced by about 20%-30%.
(2) Excellent film properties Co-extruded composite barrier film can be produced by co-extrusion of a variety of high-barrier resins and general-purpose resins, so that the film has excellent mechanical properties and secondary processing properties with high barrier properties.
The coextruded composite film can be directly used as a barrier packaging material, and can also be used as a substrate for dry compounding and extrusion compounding.
(3) Improve the production environment The production process of the co-extrusion composite barrier film does not use organic solvents, and the production is safe, and will not pollute the surrounding environment and the production workshop. Moreover, due to the small number of production links and the small number of stacked items, it is very beneficial to optimize the production environment and improve working conditions.
(4) The hygienic performance of the barrier film is reliable. Since the co-extrusion composite barrier film is produced without using an organic solvent, the existence of residual solvent is avoided, and the composite barrier film can be more safely used in the field of food and pharmaceutical packaging.
(5) Composite barrier film cannot be printed on the interlayer. The co-extruded composite barrier film can only be surface-printed and cannot be printed on the inner layer. Therefore, the printed surface is liable to cause defects such as fading and insufficient gloss.
(6) Higher investment cost of production equipment Compared with the production methods of other composite barrier films, the co-extrusion composite barrier film has higher equipment purchase cost.
