Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer (VCP), Vinyl chloride-ethylene propylene rubber graft copolymer (VC-g-EPR) and PVC/NBR blend (PVC/NBR)
2.3.14 Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer
Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer can also be called chloropropylene (copolymer) resin, abbreviated as VCP.
2.3.14.1 Performance characteristics
Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer is internally plasticized PVC. The resin molding products have good thermal stability and processability in the process, the melt after plasticization has good fluidity, and the elongation is high under high temperature conditions. It is suitable to use vacuum molding for various complex products. In addition, the products formed with chloropropylene resin are non-toxic, transparent and resistant to chemicals. However, the impact strength of products is lower than that of PVC products.
2.3.14.2 Forming method and application
Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer can be extruded, injected, blown and vacuum molded. Processing plastic products. Such as extrusion blow molding film, sheet and hollow container, profile and injection molding pipe fittings, supporting parts for various mechanical equipment, chemical and medical components, etc.
The producers of vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer include Shanghai Tianyuan Group Tianyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Chemical Research Institute, etc. See Table 2-83 for the performance standards of chloropropylene resin produced by Elkor.

2.3.15 Vinyl chloride-ethylene propylene rubber graft copolymer

Vinyl chloride-ethylene-propylene rubber graft copolymer can also be called vinyl chloride-ethylene-propylene graft copolymer or vinyl chloride-propylene resin, abbreviated as VC-g-EPR.
2.3.15.1 Performance characteristics
Vinyl chloride-ethylene-propylene rubber graft copolymer is a kind of impact resistant modified PVC resin. The molded plastic products have high impact strength, weather aging resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, which are equivalent to ordinary PVC products, but superior to ABS products. The thermal deformation temperature and bending elastic modulus of the products are slightly lower, but they are equivalent to the high impact resistance polystyrene products.
2.3.15.2 Forming method and purpose
Vinyl chloride-ethylene-propylene rubber graft copolymer is mainly used for molding plastic products by injection molding. The main injection molding products include: the shell, window frame, corrosion resistant pipeline, container and ball valve of radio, picture tube and some electrical components; Soft products are insulating layers for wires and cables; It can also be used as modifier of PVC resin.
See Table 2-84 for technical indicators of vinyl chloride-ethylene propylene rubber graft copolymer produced by Jiangsu North Chlor-Alkali Group Co., Ltd. The properties of VC-g-EPR hard products are shown in Table 2-85.

2.3.16 PVC/NBR blend

PVC/nitrile rubber blend can also be called nitrile rubber modified PVC, abbreviated as PVC/NBR.
(1) Properties of PVC/NBR blends
Nitrile rubber (NBR) in PVC/NBR blends mainly plays an internal plasticizing role. The plasticizing effect of NBR is better than that of low molecular weight plasticizer. It is nonvolatile and non-migration, and can be stored in the blend for a long time, which can better prolong the service life of the product; In addition, the impact strength of PVC resin is improved by blending NBR with PVC. For example, when the content of NBR in the blend is 10%, the impact strength is 34.6kJ/m ², PVC is only 8.6kJ/m. In addition, NBR also improves the low-temperature brittleness of PVC.
(2) Preparation of PVC/NBR blends
PVC and nitrile rubber shall be granulated after blending. The production sequence is as follows: measure PVC, NBR and other raw materials according to the proportion required by the formula, then mix them evenly, mix them in a two-roller plasticizer at about 170 ℃ (or in an internal mixer), mix and plasticize them evenly, then slice and roll them up, and then cut them in a granulator.
(3) PVC/NBR blend products and molding methods
PVC/NBR blends can be used to produce plastic products by extrusion, injection molding and calendering. For example, it can produce molded heat-resistant wire sleeve, oil-resistant hose, artificial leather, film and shoe sole, and can also produce products for replacing rubber.
The manufacturing process of PVC/NBR blend pellets is relatively simple. The production units include Shanghai No. 1 Plastic Factory, Shanghai No. 2 Rubber Products Factory, Chongqing Zhongnan Rubber Factory, South China University of Technology, etc.
